Hey everyone!

We first collaborated with @pizzy_fosheezy_cosplay when we asked to animate their amazing photo of their Dark Link! The image is below (Check out our Instragram page for actual animation):

Below is our awesome interview!:

1. What is your Instagram for your cosplay? Do you have any other social media accounts where you share your cosplay?

@pizzi_fosheezy_cosplay and my Facebook cosplay account is Maryann Pizzi

2.When did you become interested in cosplaying? What influenced you or who influenced you?

2 and a half years ago is when I first started cosplaying.

I was really depressed for a couple of years when I found out my mom had cancer.

And I always saw the amazing stuff Jessica Nigri, Kamuicosplay and Kinpatsucosplay and I wanted to do that.

So, I up and decided to go to San Francisco Comic-Con.

And although my mom didn’t make it last year, she got to see me in my cosplay and laugh at my pure dorkiness!

3. When did you begin to do cosplay?

Although, I was going to renaissance fairs before this, not sure if that quite counts though.

4. Who helped you with your cosplay?

My other half @whiskeybanger (Instagram) and the support of other cosplayers who helped guide me.

5. Which was your 1st cosplay outfit? What was the process like putting it together?

I was Kurenai from Naruto!

Luckily, @whiskeybanger had a tactical vest already, and the headband. So, I threw together clothes I had around, bought a wig on Amazon, and POOF!… Lirenai was born in her flak jacket outfit!

I was a noobie, so I really had no idea what actually went into cosplaying.

6. Which is your favorite cosplay and why?

It’s so hard to choose!

I have love for three of them, but, my Dark Link is my favorite!

7. Do you do cosplay events or competitions? Do you have a favorite you like to attend and why?

I don’t do cosplay competitions, but I do go to plenty of events!

I attend SacAnime, Fanime, Ohana ComicCon, CRX(next month) and next year I’m planning to go to AX and Hawaii in February for one their ComicCons.

My favorite so far has been Fanime! It was such a blast and I can’t wait for next year! We have BIG things planned for it!

8. Do you make or buy your cosplay? Or maybe both? Do you have any stores or sellers you highly recommend to aspiring cosplayers?

I do both.

I’m still learning, so, sometimes I have to give in and purchase things. But, right now, I’m learning how to craft with foam, so I won’t have to buy weapons anymore.

I highly recommend Miccostumes! Honestly, such well priced stuff and the quality is amazing! I got my Dark Link and Sasuke costume from them!

9. What do you enjoy about cosplay?

Being able to see friends you only get so see a few times a year, making new connections, and bringing pure joy and happiness to others when they see you bring their favorite characters to life!

10. What has your experience been like sharing your cosplay online?

It’s been amazing! The amount of support I get from people is incredible!

11. Do you have any advice for aspiring cosplayers considering sharing their cosplay online?

YES! Don’t be afraid to share what you do!

We always start from somewhere, and if you are proud of what you did, share it!!! I love seeing cosplayers grow.

And, you may get a little poop nitpicking you or trying to bring you down, ignore them! They aren’t worth your time!

I ignore the haters and continue to step through them, as if they were ghosts!

And if you ever need advice or have questions, don’t ever hesitate to contact another cosplayer, we are here for one another!

And don’t be afraid to let that favorite character you enjoy cosplaying, grow!
