8. How has your experience been with your social media account(s) for your art? What are the positive outcomes? Is there any negative outcomes?
A lot of positives have come from posting on social media. I get to see people truly appreciating my work in ways I haven’t before and I am also able to make some money from commission work that wouldn’t have otherwise been possible without sites like Instagram.
However, there is one negative that I feel has come with posting on these sites would be associating the value of my work with the amount of likes it receives which is honestly just a toxic mindset to have.
But I do feel that mainly good things have come out of sharing my work online and I don’t regret doing it.
9. What advice would you give any artist out there who is considering sharing their art on social media?
I would say: “Go for it!”
Posting online allows you to get feedback on your work that you can in turn use to better your work. It also encourages you to draw more so that you can improve upon skills and experiment with new drawing techniques as well. Who knows, maybe your work will be the one to provide just the right inspiration to other budding artists in the community
